Visiting Almería
Almería is a port city and the capital of the province of Almería. It is known as the resort center of the Costa de la Luz, part of Mediterranean Spain because of the year-round mild, warm climate which makes it ideal for swimming. It became popular with Italian filmmakers around 1960 when the nearby mountains seemed the ideal place to film scenes for the so-called Spaghetti Westerns. The Alcazaba

A visit to Benalmadena
Situated in the province of Málaga, Benalmadena is a town about 5 miles from the city of Málaga. It has a normal population of about 53000 people which soars to thousands more in the tourist season. As in most of Spain, the highest temperatures occur around July and August while the lowest is in January. A Visit to Alicante

Overview
Fuengirola is a large municipal town situated on Costa del Sol in Malaga province; this is in the Andalusia autonomous community in the southern part of Spain. Granada
Overview
The city of Granada is the capital of Granada province situated in the Andalusia autonomous community in Spain. This city is located at the foot of the mountains – Sierra Nevada; it is at a height of 738 M above sea level. Three rivers – Genil, Darro and Beiro merge in this city. In 250 B.C. the Roman Empire stepped in and named this place Iliberis; they ruled this place for 7 centuries.
During the 5th century, the decline of Roman Empire began and Visigoths ruled this place. They ruled for 200 years during which period Granada gained a lot of importance and flourished. In the year 711 Muslims overthrew the Visigoths with the help of the local Jewish community.

The town of Guadix is located in the Granada province in southern Spain. The population of this town is about 21000. This town is lively with its own characteristics. The cathedral in this city was built on a mosque site between the 16th and 18th centuries. It represents three different styles of architecture – Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque.
There was a time when this city was popular for the manufacture of cutlery of all sorts. However at present its revenue comes from earthenware, hats and hempen goods. Trading is also practiced in cotton, wool, corn, flax and liqueurs.
The author of the novel – The three cornered hat was born in this place in 1833.

Guadalajara
Overview
The city of Guadalajara is a municipality; it is located in one of the autonomous communities in Spain, Castile-La Mancha. It is also the capital of Guadalajara province. The distance between this city and Madrid is about 60 KM. The population of this city is about 76000.
History
It appears that a Roman town known as Arriaca did exist in the location of this city before the settlements of Arabs, although there is no archaeological proof for this. Moors founded this town in the 8th century and they called it Wadi-al-Hajara which means Valley of stones. Muslims built a number of monuments and these are – Bridge on the river Henares, Alcazar castle and a mosque on the location where St. Mary Cathedral existed.
The King of Castile and Leon, Alfonso VI, conquered this town in the year 1085. In the period 1085 to 1212 there were wars against the empires of Almohad and Almoravid because of which this city suffered.
The Mendoza family was popular in the 14th century and they had the titles of duchesses and dukes of El Infantado from 1475. They ordered the construction of the palace Infantado and it was completed in 1480. They used this as their residence. King Henry IV gave the title ‘city’ in the year 1460.
This city suffered lots of damages during the peninsular war in the period 1808 to 1814. The French army took over this city in 1808 and destroyed it. Resurrection of this city took place from the year 1959.

Guell Park
Walking into a storybook is the only way to describe the Guell Park. A Little History on Guell Park
Guell Park located to the north of Barcelona in Gracia was owned by Eusebi Guell and designed by Antoni Gaudi. The project began in the 1900s and ended in 1914 with only two houses along with walkways and parks. Gaudi occupied one of the houses for over a twenty (20) year period which ended in 1926. This house is now called The Casa Museu Gaudi and functions as a museum today with some of Gaudi’s furniture on display. There are pathways throughout the park with stone pillars almost giving the appearance of tree trunks placed strategically on the sides. These pathways are for the greater path of it undulated, since Gaudi avoided grading the land and opted to keep it as much as possible within its natural shape and form.

Pyrenees
The Pyrenees is a mountain range that starts from the Cantabrian Sea and runs up to the Mediterranean Sea. The range extends to a length of 450 km and the peaks reach up to 3000 meters. It has many beautiful scenes along with rich cultural heritage hidden within it.

San Juan de la Peña Monastery
The monastery dates back to the 10th century and originally consisted of a single monastery which was built in Romanesque style. The place is famous for Romanesque Cloister which is an excellent piece of architecture and attracts tourists.
Roncesvalles Royal Collegiate Church
This church resembles the Nôtre Dame cathedral which is situated in Paris. The church is built in Gothic Style and the main purpose for the construction of the church was to help the pilgrims going to Saint James.
The church also has many halls among which one has been made a museum for keeping and storing 13th century art works. Along with this, attractive pieces of metalwork can be found here. The church also contains a silver statue of Virgin Mary with Child; the chess set which belonged to Emperor Charlemagne and many such pieces of cultural importance. The walls of the church are beautifully decorated with mural painting which dates back to the 13th century.
Dormant volcanoes and volcanic regions
There are a large number of dormant volcanoes spread out between the Pyrenees peaks and the Costa Brava beaches. The Garroxta volcanic area which is also a nature reserve consists of thirty volcanoes and was formed more than 11,000 years ago. The Croscat volcanic region is another area of dormant volcanoes and provides eye catching scenes which should not be missed by the tourists. The village of Castellfollit de la Roca is located on a huge basalt gorge and its beauty increases when viewed from a helicopter. Other than these villages, a beach forest can also be found here which is the home for large varieties of birds and reptiles.
Parque Natural de Bardenas Reales
It is a semi-desert and is characterized by plains, terrains, cliffs and gypsum ravines. It was formed by the action of water on soil. It is a biosphere reserve as declared by the UNESCO. Large number of animals and birds can also be found in this area.
National Parks
Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park and the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park are the two national parks here.
The parks are characterized by beautiful waterfalls and torrents. The beauty of the landscape with rocky ridges and peaks is worth watching. The forest here is rich in all kinds of alpine plants and pines.

Fort around the town:
The entire city has been fortified by great walls. These walls are constructed to a height of about 30 feet so that the fort could be effectively used for defense purpose. In fact according to historians, the fort was constructed in the year 1778 and most part of the fort has been very well preserved. This is certainly a place worth seeing.
Calle Mayor:
This is actually the name of a street which has many buildings built in traditional architectural designs. Many buildings constructed in Gothic architecture or in Moorish Architecture or in Romanesque designs can be found on this road. The street has parks which have special walk paths, etc.
